About our price-checking bot

Best Capsules compares the prices of capsule supplements sold in the UK. Where a seller has no product feed, we collect public product and price information from their website with an automated crawler, once a day.

The bot follows a fixed set of rules:

• It identifies itself with the user agent above on every request.
• It reads and respects robots.txt before every URL it fetches.
• It makes at most one request every few seconds to any site, once a day, and prefers a site's own product feed wherever one exists.
• It only reads public product pages: never accounts, carts, or personal data.
• It never works around bot protection. A blocked site is left alone.

If we check prices on your site and you would rather we did not, email hello@bestcapsules.co.uk and we will remove your site the same day. If you would like your products listed on your own terms instead, the same address reaches us about our free merchant feed.
